Dental Hygienists: Is your job gross? Are there a lot of patients with stinky breath or decay?

Or are most patients teeth pretty decent?

I named my children Stinkybreath and Decay.
Reply:no not at all, people only go to the dentist when they have clean perfect teeth,
Reply:Not gross. They wear masks for the halitosis (bad breath and bodily fluids). Yes the teeth can look awful but its quite rewarding when the work is done!
Reply:sorry, we all wear nose plugs and masks for out protection,..,
Reply:Every day will be different for you as your will have many people who did not take care of their teeth for one reason or another and you will get tons of people who see the dentist every 6 months like they should. If you don't think you can handle people who have bad teeth then dentaly hygiene is not the profession for you.
Reply:Oh of course not, everyone goes to the dentist has perfect shiny teeth and breath, no one but people with perfect mouths go.
