I want to change my major. I wanted to know if yall think it would be a good job to have. Do you think they make alot of money and in what state do you think they would pay the best? I just want to be done with school and have a career already.
Is a career as a dental assistant a good job to have?
Um hell yeah! Go for it! My girl friend is doing it! they make mad money!!!!!!
Reply:I don't think it would interest me too much, but people have teeth everywhere so I think it would be a good job to have to have a job. You would never have to worry about being unemployed. I guess in Alaska it would pay the best.
Reply:my cousin works as one and she makes quite a nice living and also loves her job, but according to her hygenists make far more than assistants
Reply:My sister is one and she loves it. She loves the variety of people she meets everyday too...
Reply:If you're going to go the route of dental assistant, just go on and be a dental hygienist. They make really good money...at least here in California they do. 400 to 500 a day. its a two year program usually, after all your pre reqs, but worth it. Dental assistants make ok, money but the work can be tedious and sometimes the Doctors have no respect for you. Just a personal observation, my wife was once an assistant and is now a Hygienist.
Reply:Better career choice would be dental hygenist....make excelelnt $ and can have flexible hours. Though cleaning teeth? Ick!
Reply:Yes, you get to look at people with tools and hands in their mouth all day and then try to talk to them, hahahhahaha
ok sorry, it does seem like a reasonable career to have.
Reply:Not really basically anyone can do it you don't need really good exam results or anything
Reply:It really depends if you can put up with the patients bad breaths.
Reply:I know how you feel...end of tests, mid-terms, and finals!
Can't wait myself.
Dental Assistants make a ton of money and demand is high here in Seattle.
Because they make good money, in Seattle it is hard getting into the Dental program at the universities here.
A friend told me that in order to get in the UW you need a 3.8 gpa.
good luck.
Reply:no
Reply:You would have to love the job because there is no opportunity for advancement and income potential is not high.
Reply:no not really because there is no law saying that you have to have a degree to do what a dental assistant does so alot of dentists just hire people off the street train them on the job and pay them squat.
Reply:initially Yes but a Human should always thinks about being better!!
