Yes indeed...two..(1) if there is a Dental College near you call it's "Out Patient Clinic"...they will provide dental services from Free to very low cost..(2) call your local hospital and ask if they have a Dental Internship Program. If they do they too can provide Free to low cost services. Good luck and I wish you well.
Reply:try putting a little bit of cloves on it.
Reply:Go to the ER. If you have an abscessed tooth and it is not treated, the infection can spread systemically and possibly endanger you and your unborn child. The ER can determine if you have an active infection and at least put you on antibiotics to get it under control. A tooth that has abscessed will eventually need to be either extracted or treated with a root canal, but getting the infection under control will at least buy you some time.
Reply:The 2nd trimester is a great time to get dental work done while pregnant (the baby has developed a bit but your not so big to be uncomfortable to be in dental chair for long periods of time). X-rays will probably be needed.

Topical anesthetics that are sold over the counter probably won't help much when you're in a lot of pain. Is your pain spontaneous or does something specific cause the pain? If the tooth is still alive the solution may not be as expensive as you think (a filling) and there are emergency procedure to get you comfortable and buy you some time without having to have the tooth extracted.

Although finances are always a consideration it's best to see your dentist now rather than to have complications later (many toothaches are infections). You may want to check with your previous employer usually there's COBRA insurance that you can opt into (although this can also be very expensive). If you're in a large city you may want to check with a local dental school or check with your local city government to see if there are low-cost or free services available. You may also want to contact your OB and see if there's a someone they work with. You may also just want to call your regular dentist and see what he/she can work out for you.
Reply:If you are pregnant and don't have a job, you should qualify for public aid benefits because of the pregnancy. If so, you will receive medical and possibly dental (depending on the state you reside in). You could also contact your local dental society and get the names of dentists that provide free, sliding scale or low cost services.
