Can anybody give me some good sites about dental? (Not finding a job, doing a report; Details below!)?

I need some good sites about thse certain kinds of things for dentists:

1. Pros and Cons

2. How to Become a Dentist

3. A Trip to the Dentist

4. How to Become a Dentist

5. Most Common Dental Tools

That's all and if you have any other dental sites that are NOT related to this, I'll still be glad to hear it. :) Reply ASAP and I don't need to find the job of a DENTIST. =D

Go to the American Dental Association's website at www.ada.org.
Reply:1. In my opinion, the biggest pro of practicing dentistry is the personal satisfaction you gain from contributing to someone else's self esteem through perfecting their smile. In regards to the cons of dentistry, I would have to say that the depreciation of the profession by some individuals is a tough aspect of the field. Truth is, many people view a visit to the dentist as the plague and don't treat them as pleasant experiences. How often do you hear the following when you mention dentistry to someone: "Oh, I can't stand going to the dentist; I was terrified of going to my dentist's office when I was young."

2. Ask your guidance counselor for information on colleges that have a two-year pre-dental program that emphasizes the sciences. Most pre-dental students complete a bachelor's degree. Send for college catalogs and applications. Apply well before the deadline date.Commit yourself to receiving high grades in college, especially in your science courses.

Contact the American Dental Association for a list of four-year dental schools accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. Make certain you'll meet the admission requirements. (See the ADA Web site at ada.org.)

Take the Dental Admissions Test (DAT). Your test scores, overall grade point average, science average and recommendations will all weigh heavily in the decision to admit you to a dental school.

Understand that the first two years in dental school will consist of classroom and lab courses. The final two years are spent in clinics under the supervision of licensed dentists.

Obtain your license by passing additional written and practical state examinations after you've graduated from dental school. Make certain you know what your state's licensing requirements are well before you get to this point.

Check on your state's requirements for specialty licenses in the dental field. An additional two to five years of study is required.

3. For some, a trip to the dentists is HORRIFYING! Some people like going to the dentist- to obtain a healthier, more beautiful smile. Dentists should relax patients with calm music, a movie, a comfy chair, or a pain-free visit.

4. ( I think you accidentally repeated number 2 ;] )

5. Most common- Dental mirror, cheek retractor, and of course, the dental drill.

Mirror

Dental mirrors are used by the dentist or dental auxiliary to view a mirror image of the teeth in locations of the mouth where visibility is difficult or impossible. They also are useful for reflecting light onto desired surfaces, and with retraction of soft tissues to improve access or vision.

Cheek retractor

Made of autoclavable polycarbonate plastic, the cheek retractor is easy to place and useful for photography, oral surgery, orthodontic bonding and restorative work.

Dental drill

High speed air driven, slow speed, friction grip, surgical hand piece.
