I just recently got my certificate as an dental assistant. I been to soo many interview but still couldn't get an job. I'm asian, maybe that the reason they don't want to hiring me. What should i do? Please help!!!!
I have an hard time looking for an job in dental field? Can someone help me.?
Personally, I'd probably consider it an asset to hire someone who was Asian. Besides the stereotype of a good work ethic, you might open up my practice to a population that I did not otherwise have contact with. My dad had a Japanese assistant about 40 years ago and I still have dozens of Japanese patients - probably over 100 - who either came because they were friends of her family or are children of those original patients.

Reply:Takes awhile before you can land on a job. Keep trying, keep applying. Believe in yourself. I believe in you. Good luck.
Reply:You can search on dentaljobs.com and search for a job that way. Also, maybe since you are getting interviews but not getting job offers, your interviewing skills may need to be refreshed. Make sure you have a resume, dress professional, be confident, and SMILE. Make sure you let your potential employer know that you have the skills and desire to work at their office. If you need help with a resume, there are a lot of resume sites that can help you put together one that will really catch the eye of employers.
Reply:It has nothing to do with the fact that you are asian. If you have an energetic personality, know your information, and are looking to fit into a dental team.. you'll get a good job.
Keep trying.
Reply:It has nothing to do you with you being Asian. I wouldn't care if you were Asian, Vulcan, Martian, Neanderthal, etc...
Like the previous dentist wrote, a good personality is key. Be open, ask good questions, have a good friendly demeanor, and be sincere. Be persistent, and you will find a job.
