Anyone got tips for a job interview dental nurse?
start looking up everything you can online to refresh your memory. don't worry, i'm sure you'll do great. remember to dress appropriately. i have personally seen many people get rejected because they looked "trashy" for their interview. arrive 10 minutes early as well, because when you're late, you do NOT look good.
Reply:My daughter was in the same predicament. be up front with your boss but tell him you loved the job and enjoy learning. As long as you act confident good luck!!!
Reply:Brush up on your charting skills, a friend of mine went for an interview for a dental nurse agency and messed up on the charting despite nursing for 20 years.

Try and get hold of a copy of the Levisons D/N book and refresh your memory, dentistry has moved on a lot in 2 years.

Show you've got a real interest in the job and dont be afraid to as questions yourself.

Sell yourself and look really smart, you'll be amazed at how much you will remember, it's like riding a bike.

Good luck and i hope you get the job!
Reply:Take a look at the new NHS contract on the NHS website if it's an NHS practice as it changed completely last year.

Ask them some questions at the end of the interview also- this shows that you're keen and discerning! Think of some questions to ask beforehand about the practice.

If you're not qualified you might need to enrol on a training course soon to meet GDC requirements- if they ask then tell them that you'd be willing to do this.

I agree with the other answer you had- Levison's Textbook for Dental Nurses is a great text, as is the newer Hollins' NVQ for Dental Nurses.

Good luck.
Reply:Jade Goody from Big Brother 3 used to be a dental nurse, so it can't be too difficult.
