I am pursuing my dental hygienist degree from a community college in California. I'm thinking of moving to Seattle, but will I be able to work in Seattle (or any other state in the US for that matter) or will my degree only be good in California? Also, how is the job outlook for hygienists there?
What is the job outlook for dental hygienists in Seattle?
You can work in WA state no problem with a degree from CA since they are both WREB states. Check out the website: www.wreb.org, click on "General Information", then "List of States Accepting WREB Results". you'll find all the states where you can work in without re-taking your clinical board.
The only thing you have to do is apply for license and take the jurisprudence exam (which are both state specific) whenever you move.
Reply:better than avarage, like all the other health professions.
Reply:People will always need a dental hygienist regardless of where you live. Washingtonians like clean teeth too.
