Are you talking about dentistry and working in a dental office in US or India. If he had a BDS he can work in india but he needs to take more exams to be able to practice dentistry in US. However, he might be able to work but not practice. Also, specialization might be an option. if we are talking about being able to work in US, starting off as a graduate student to get some research experience might be helpful and is a good transition too. The stipend is pretty good for graduate students.
Reply:Foreign trained dentists can enter a course at the University of Toronto. (Canada) It typically runs for two years...after which a license to practice is granted. Until the candidate receives a license from the RCDS (Royal College of Dental Surgeons) he/she cannot practice....however he/she may work in a dental office in a lesser capacity...e.g. receptionist/dental assistant/etc. etc. For further information contact the RCDS or the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry....124 Edward St. Toronto, Ontario. Canada.
