Company Medical and Dental benefits, when does it start?

I have a job but my medical and dental insurance benefits start 6 months after employment. On average, when does it usually start? Do I always need to complete my 6 month probation or do some companies give it to me right off the bat?

Company Medical and Dental benefits, when does it start?
Companies all set their own rules on when employees are eligible for benefits. Some are 30 days, 3 months. A few are immediate. There is no rule. I haven't seen too many with a 6 month waiting period but it's not that uncommon. 30 days or 3 months are the most common ones I've seen.
Reply:I think with most companies it is usually 90 days after employment starts, but obviously every company has a different way of doing things.
