Why does it seem dental assistants make more money than medical assistants?

I've been browsing job ads and it seems dental asst make more $$$ then medical asst. Has anyone else noticed this? How can this be when medical assistants have more intense learning and training? I just wanted the opinions of others in this matter. Thanks!

Why does it seem dental assistants make more money than medical assistants?
Lots of demand for dental assistants/hygienists, because there are fewer of them - because fewer people want to have their fingers in peoples' mouths and be looking at the remnants of breakfast because few people bother to brush before visiting the dentist. See, I don't think I could do that, but taking temperatures, blood pressures, even giving shots or drawing blood, seems a little better to me...
Reply:demand, also dentistry is stressful I understand from some dentists. Not so many people want to get into it.
Reply:A dental office is usually owned and operated by the dentist. It can be a very profitable business and as a result the dentists pay their assistants well.
Reply:No medical assistants dont have more intense training! The dental assistants actually train along side Dental hygiene students and take many of the same classes, they just dont learn how to actually work on teeth, just assist. They also take xrays which is another testing and training procedure.
