Computer Programming or Dental Hygiene? Please Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
dental hygiene mate. dentists and people in the dental world are never out of work and they are paid very well for it to. Computers are developing way to fast to keep up with and it is extremely competitive. good luck.

By the way i expect free dental work for the rest of my life for this free advise :-)
Reply:If you think a dental hygiene curriculum is difficult, you could definitely never be a programmer. Besides, 2-year computer degrees are worthless. Go for the teeth.
Reply:Computer programming is a *lot* harder than dental hygiene.

If you love math, go for the computer work. If you love working with people, go for the dental.
Reply:For job stability, I'd go with teeth. As long as there are people, there are going to be teeth that need cleaning.

On the other hand, if you're not passionate about sticking your fingers into other people's mouths, I would suggest taking a little more time to think about what you really want to do 8 hours a day for a significant chunk of your life.
Reply:Don't go into programming, I can tell by your post that you don't have the passion for it.

Unless you eat it, breathe it, drink it and live it, you will be miserable. The business is VERY cyclical and you'll be making rediculous amounts of money followed by times when you are wondering where your next meal will come from.

But you are wrong about one thing. The field is wide open right now. IT ***WAS*** hard to get into until last year when the market opened up again, but now the industry is dying for people.
